Modular construction offers tremendous advantages in productivity, safety, efficiency and waste minimization over conventional means. Until recently, its application in high-rise construction has been limited, but this is now changing. The time is right to set forth standards and practices for its further significant uptake. The objective of this workshop is to establish the most salient issues, challenges and trends in high-rise modular, with an ultimate goal of developing a CTBUH Technical Guide on High-Rise Modular Construction.

The workshop will be led by James Murray-Parkes, Science & Engineering Director, Multiplex Engineering Innovations Group. Mr. Murray-Parkes is the principal author of the Handbook for the Design of Modular Structures and a co-founder of the Modular Construction Codes Board (MCCB).
